The MS girls soccer team earned the No. 2 seed in their tournament and are in the semi-finals! The game will be Monday, May 15, at 4:30 pm at Stargate School. The Championship game will follow. The ES girls team is also in its championship game this Saturday.

The girls soccer is having a stellar season at all levels this spring! First up, the HS varsity girls team is in the playoffs, after finishing 12-3 on the season and earning a No. 4 seed in the state tournament. This is the highest seed in PRA soccer history. Our Miners finished in a three-way tie for the league title, which again is a first for the program. Our Miners host their first game against Arrupe Jesuit today (Thursday May 11) at 4 pm. It's a BLACK OUT game so come out and support your Miners!

In mid-April, North Metro Fire Department was invited to PRA to demo CPR practices for students in Dr. Flo's PE, Total Fitness and Health classes. Students learned a preview of CPR, first aid, and use of the AED to save lives.

The PRA high school track & field team competed in the 3A Metropolitan League Championship on April 29. PRA athletes scored points on 53 different occasions. When scores were totaled, the boys team was crowned league champions for the first time while the girls earned a hard fought third place team finish.
Several individual league champion titles were also won on both the boy and girls side. The individual league champions are:

For Kindness Friday, Dr. Flo's 10th grade health class created a birthday card for a Broomfield resident with a special birthday—Connie turns 100 years young today (May 4, 2023)! Students made individual cards, which were organized into a mega birthday card. What a kind gesture, Miners!

Our amazing Battle of the Books students competed against other Adams 12 schools in the District Battle on April 26. They placed 10th out of 24 and lost their last battle by only one question. They showed amazing character and sportsmanship! Ms. Rimmer and Ms. Rosebrook are proud of them!

They have worked hard reading and preparing for the district battle against other Adams 12 middle schoolers, which took place at Century Middle School on April 12.

PRA teams finished strong at the finals of the 2023 Colorado Science Olympiad Tournament. Kyle Nguyen '23 and Max Meador '23 earned the second-place medal in Cell Biology for the high school team. Other top ten finishes for high school were Bridge, fourth; Codebusters, fifth; Forestry, sixth; Rocks and Minerals, fourth; and Trajectory, sixth.
Dean Wilkin '28 and Nicolas Jasiewicz '28 earned the third-place medal in Bio Process Lab for the middle school team. The other top ten finish for middle school was Meteorology, placing seventh.
The tournament was held on on April 1 at UCCS in Colorado Spring. Congratulations, Miners!

Congratulations to all of the PRA middle schoolers and high schoolers who participated in the C-ASTA Festival concert in March. This competition took place at Fairview High School in Boulder with other local high school orchestras around the region. Our PRA musicians received superior and excellent ratings. Mr. Galerstein announced at the festival music concert last night that this group placed in the top 20 orchestras out of 70 that performed! Pretty amazing stuff from this small but mighty group! Congratulations, PRA orchestra, for an outstanding job representing PRA!
