Each year the senior class at PRA presents a gift to the school before graduation. This year, the Class of 2024 decided to fulfill a long-held wish of Mr. DiGiacomo to have a Miner mural on the gym wall. The seniors raised money through the Powderpuff game in October, and so the StuCo seniors began looking for a muralist. Mrs. Frost had seen murals in Lafayette, did some research and found that many of them were created by Tif Choate owner of Snail Candy Arts (https://snailcandy.com/). The StuCo seniors shared their ideas, including the desire to have the seniors help create the mural, and Tif came up with a few versions to choose from. Once the design was selected, Tif outlined the mural on polytab, a material that allows a muralist to complete mural art anywhere and apply it to the wall at the end. This allowed multiple students to safely paint while on the ground and work on different parts of the mural at the same time. The over spring break, Tif came in and applied it to the wall and added some extra details. It looks amazing, Class of 2024! What a special gift that will be enjoyed by the PRA community for years to come. #PRAMiners #PRAClassOf2024

This morning, PRA hosted a Naturalization Ceremony for 20 new U.S. citizens in collaboration with US Citizen and Immigration Services. Our 3rd graders took part in the ceremony, which brought to life the unit on citizenship that they studied this year. The students sang, several spoke, and they welcomed the new citizens with flowers and flags from their native countries. Krista Batchelder, PRA's board president, spoke at the ceremony, not only representing the board but as the mother of a 3rd grader and a naturalized citizen. It was a memorable morning for all who attended. Great job, 3rd grade, for helping and showing the PRA Way! #PRAMiners #NaturalizationCeremony #CoreKnoweldge

PRA students observed Monday's solar eclipse, watching science in action. The eclipse on April 8 was visible across North America, with Colorado residents able to observe 60-70 percent coverage of the sun. The next total solar eclipse won't occur for another 20 years. #PRAMiners #PRAScienceIntensive #K12CharterSchool

Before spring break, the Class of 2024 presented their Senior Leadership Capstone Symposium. This annual event is the culmination of work the students have done since the beginning of the year. Each student chooses a career of interest and works with a mentor to learn about and practice the job. They then present their experience through a display board and answering question at the symposium. Congratulations, Class of 2024, on a successful symposium! #PRAMiners #PRAClassOf2024 #PRACapstone
