2026 Miner Merge

Middle School Miner Merge

8:30 a.m.- 12:15 p.m. (WEB Orientation in K-8 Gymnasium)

12:15 p.m.-1:00 p.m. (6th Grade Lunch with WEB Leaders)

1:00 p.m. - 3:05 p.m. (6th Grade Check-In Fair Rotations)

Note: “New to PRA” families in 7th and 8th grade should receive a direct email with their student’s Miner Merge detailed timeline since it differs from Rising 6th Graders.

Miner Merge is for all Rising 6th Graders, and “New to PRA” students in 7th Grade and 8th Grade. The event is designed to help students who are new to PRA, and new to Middle School, get comfortable with their new environment.

Students and/or guardians are asked to enter through the K-8 Courtyard that morning between 8:00-8:30 a.m. After drop-off, guardians are invited to use our Community Supplies driveline in front of the High School Commons. This will be available from 8:00-11:30 a.m. Click this link to view the Middle School School Supplies list.

Following the completion of the WEB Orientation (8:30 a.m.-12:15 p.m.), Rising 6th Grade students will be served lunch between 12:15-1:00 p.m. Rising 6th Grade students then conclude the day with five, 25-minute rotations to complete their Check-In Fair requirements. These five stations are:

  • Chromebook instructions and log-in assistance with IT

    • If your student misses Miner Merge, their Chromebook will be issued on the first day of school

  • Student ID Photos & Lanyards w/Pouches with Dorian

  • Locker Assignment & Set Up

    • Reminder: bring your own combo lock, per “Personal School Supplies”

  • Ready for the Day Checklist & Planner Use Review

  • Dress Code Review & Tour

Rising 6th Grade students will be dismissed at 3:05 p.m. and can be picked up outside the K-8 main entrance. If students complete all five rotations during Miner Merge, they are not required to come back to the K-12 Check-In Fair event on Tuesday, August 11.

Parent & Guardian Merge (Optional)

8:30-9:30 a.m.- PRA also recognizes this next step for students can be a challenging unknown for parents, which is why we are offering a “Parent & Guardian Merge” session in the K-8 Commons. This optional session is for those who would like to meet fellow PRA Middle School families and have the chance for small group discussions on how to better support your middle school student.

If guardians have medication to drop off to the PRA health office, they will also be able to do so during this time.

High School Miner Merge

8:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. (HS Commons & HS Gym)

This event is for all incoming 9th graders, as well as 10th, 11th and 12th graders who are new to PRA. This event gives new high schoolers an opportunity to meet fellow students and staff and become acquainted with the building.

Miner Merge attendees will start the day in the high school commons, where they will check-in and meet with their high school student ambassador. Students will then join their peaks and go through rotations that include:

  • Visit the high school gym to have their photo IDs taken

  • Pick up their class schedules

  • Receive their locker assignments

  • Tour the building

PRA High School uses the 5 Star Student App to award points for the Miner Cup, to provide students with a calendar of events and to manage some check-ins.  Students are not required to download the app to make these things work, but many students choose to in order to keep up to date and better manage their Miner Cup points. If you are comfortable having your student download the app, please help them to do so before Miner Merge so they can use it to earn their first points towards the Miner Cup as part of our orientation activities.

Miner Merge Pick Up in front of PRA High School (12:00-12:30 p.m.)

High School Miner Merge families are asked to drop off their Community Supplies during this time in the High School commons area. Donation bins for Community Supplies will be labeled and made available. Click this link to view the High School School Supplies list.
