Thriving Minds Tutoring is offering two summer camp opportunities, and a Creative Writing Club, hosted in Lafayette and led by educator, Abby Mallett. The opportunities are:
Harry Potter Camp (6-11 year olds): July 13-17 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Lafayette. Click here for more information.
Harry Potter Camp is taught by veteran teacher and Ravenclaw witch, Abby Mallett. Abby creates an inclusive, fun, educational environment for young wizards and witches. Camp includes wizarding world activities such as potion making, quidditch, and crafts. Math, writing, and reading skills are weaved in, but young wizards may not notice because they’ll be having so much fun. You might think they are under the Confundus charm!
STEM Camp (6-11 year olds): June 1-5 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Lafayette. Click here for more information.
STEM camp is taught by veteran teacher Abby Mallett. Abby creates an engaging, educational environment for kids to explore STEM concepts. Campers will participate in fun experiments, engineering challenges, screen-free coding, nature explorations, games, and other science, art and math activities. They will also make slime (a fan favorite)! Group size is kept small at 8 participants maximum.

Creative Writing Club is an inclusive space for young writers to experiment with creative writing. We will explore poetry, storytelling, creative nonfiction, nature journaling, and more! Writers greatly benefit from being part of a writing community. In this program, young writers will not only receive high quality writing instruction, but will learn from their peers by giving and receiving feedback. Experienced teacher, Abby Mallett, facilitates a safe community in which writers are encouraged, celebrated and supported. Because writers are more motivated when writing is relevant to them, there is room for choice in topics. Group size is kept small to ensure writers receive individual feedback each meeting
