In the spirit of sustainability and recycling, PRA is excited to invite our community to participate in a special Miner Mania initiative. This year, our K–12 students will work together during Miner Mania to create a LEGO mosaic mural titled “Miners Giving Back to Our Communities & the World.” The design will be created by our own K-12 students. Winners will be announced soon!
To make this project possible, we are asking families to donate any unwanted LEGOs that may be tucked away at home. Rather than letting these pieces go unused, we will recycle and repurpose them into a meaningful piece of collaborative student art that we will display in the school.
We are especially in need of:
Any color 32x32, 24x24, or other larger sized base plates (these will be used as the the base of our design)
Any color 4x4 base plates (students will be using these to create the mosaic during Miner Mania with their buddies)
1x1 LEGO bricks (any color- we are anticipating needing around 20,000 so the more the better!)
We will gratefully accept all LEGO donations, any that we don’t end up using will be shared across our classrooms to promote future creative learning. Students can earn community service hours if they help separate out the 1x1 bricks by color before donating them. Please contact Kristen Josephides for more details!
