Colorado’s Healthy School Meals for All program is now in its third year, providing more than 600,000 free, nutritious meals to students across the state each day. Participation in school breakfast and lunch has grown by over 30%, helping kids learn and saving families up to $1,300 per child each year.
This November, two statewide ballot measures —Proposition LL and Proposition MM— will determine the program’s future. Both measures must pass to continue free school meals for all students beyond December 2025.
Prop LL would allow Colorado to keep already-collected funds to maintain free meals through the 2025–26 school year.
Prop MM would fully fund the program long-term by limiting certain state tax deductions for households earning $300,000+ per year, enabling schools to buy more local food, prepare meals from scratch, and support school nutrition staff.
If these measures don’t pass, many schools will lose free meal access starting January 2026.
