Battle of the Books

Get excited, Miners! It’s time for the 2025-26 Battle of the Books!

Battle of the Books (or BoB club) is a voluntary reading club for 4th and 5th grade students designed to encourage kids to read great books and have fun while competing with their peers. We will spend our time reading and preparing for the district battles at the end of the school year. All club members get to participate fully in our club and in the school battles, but we are only allowed to take six students to the district battle at the end of the year.

BoB is a really fun club, but it is also a big commitment. Students participating are asked to read at least five books from a preset list of ten books between October and March. They also have to write ten battle style questions for each of the books that they read. We’ll talk more about this when we start meeting.

Meetings will be two Tuesday afternoons a month. If you’re thinking this club is for you, please fill out the Google Form by Friday, October 3rd. Then plan on attending our first meeting Tuesday, October 7th from 3:30 until 4:15 in the library. Club PROMPTLY ends at 4:15. Please be ready to pick-up your child at the K-8 front entrance in the GREEN Lane.
