Call for Board of Director Applicants / Due by Feb. 19

The Prospect Ridge Academy (PRA) Board of Directors has four board positions open for the 2025/2026 school year. The Board is especially seeking applicants with legal/governance backgrounds. Candidates\Board Members do not need to be the parent or guardian of a PRA student. The term length for these openings is 2-years.

Submissions are due no later than 11:59 pm, February 19, 2025.

Board members are expected to chair at least one (sub)committee. A brief description of each (sub)committee may be found in the Subcommittee & Committee Overview document on the PRA Website under Board of Directors section. Please feel free to contact the current board chair for additional information regarding any (sub)committee and its time commitment.

It is important to note that serving on the board is a time commitment, and members are expected to be prepared and engaged throughout the year. The time required can vary, but a typical time commitment ranges from 5-25 hours per month during the school year.

Nomination Next Steps: If you are interested in serving the PRA community as a member of the Board of Directors, please provide the following to Toral Joshi (tjoshi@prospectridgeacademy.org) by February 19, 2025:

1. Your resume.

2. A brief statement as to why you are interested in the position and why you believe you would be an asset to PRA and the PRA Board of Directors. Some areas of expertise we are looking for include:

· Organizational and Financial Management;

· Community Development;

· Facility/Project Management;

· Administration;

· Academic/Education;

· Business/Corporate;

· Accounting;

· Fund-raising/Capital Campaign;

· Law/Charter School Regulations;

· Marketing;

· Human Resources;

· Physical Plant (architect, engineer);

· Strategic or Long-Range Planning;

· Public Relations; and

· Real Estate.

· Whether you are the parent/guardian of a current PRA student.

· Your consent for the PRA Governance Committee to submit your information to the PRA Board of Directors for consideration.

Nomination Process: The Governance Committee will compile a list of qualified candidates for the Board to review. As part of this process, finalists will be asked to meet with the Board of Directors for a brief, but mandatory interview. The Board of Directors will then provide the PRA community its recommendation of candidates prior to Spring Break and will hold an election for the PRA community to affirm or deny the Board's recommendation the week following Spring Break.

Important Nomination Information: It is important to note, that as per Section 3.22. of the PRA Bylaws, no relatives of the Board of Directors will be eligible for employment in any capacity at the School or will be eligible to provide services as an independent contractor.
