A new calendar year brings new beginnings! Prospect Ridge Academy would like to share information regarding Middle School eligibility for special non-academic school sponsored events. As PRA works to develop academic, social, and ethical leaders, it is essential to promote positive study habits and encourage respectful, responsible choices that align with our school's values. PRA believes that all of our students can meet and exceed both our academic and behavior expectations at PRA because Middle School Miners make it happen!
PRA is dedicated to supporting our students and equipping them with the necessary skills for success. We believe that establishing clear and fair expectations for participation will motivate our students to work hard, enabling them to take part in enjoyable non-academic school sponsored activities. Before the winter break, we shared our expectations with the students. They know what they must do to enjoy some of our extra events in middle school.
Middle School Student Management Policy: To participate in special non-academic school events, students must meet both behavior and academic requirements.
Behavior Eligibility: Students should have no more than one behavior referral in the four weeks prior to the event.*
Academic Eligibility: Students can have no more than one failing grade (F) during the week of the event. Grades will be reviewed on the Tuesday before the event, following the same schedule as athletic eligibility checks.
Students and parents will be notified via email of ineligibility for academics the Wednesday prior to an event. Behavior ineligibility will be sent home via email the night before the event.
- Athletic events follow CHSAA rules for players and spectators.
- Eligibility for students with specialized plans will be determined by admin and case managers.
