We're currently showing off our "Imaginary Friend" Art Show! This show features a collection of artwork inspired by the joyful and whimsical creations of Ms. Marty’s first-grade class. In this exhibit, the National Art Honor Society students have taken the essence of first-grade art, its bold colors, playful shapes, and uninhibited expressions, and transformed them into original pieces.
This was an elusively challenging task. Through thoughtful interpretation and creative exploration, NAHS artists navigated the fine line between inspiration (work derived from another artist) and appropriation (copying another artist's work) to craft works that pay homage to the spirit of the original artwork while retaining authenticity to their own art expression.
