Prospect Ridge Academy was recognized this week by the Advanced Placement (AP) College Board, earning AP School Honor Roll Platinum badge for the 2023-2024 school year.
The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools that have done outstanding work to welcome more students into AP courses and support them on the path to college success. Research shows that students who take AP courses and exams are more likely to attend college and graduate on time.
This week’s announcement marks the second straight year that PRA has earned Platinum Badge honors. To be eligible for the Platinum badge — the highest of the four AP School Honor Roll levels — a school must meet or exceed each of the three following criteria:
Expand the school's college culture by enabling 80% of your Class of 2025 to experience 1 AP course before graduating.
Assist with college affordability by enabling 50% of the Class of 2025 to earn college credit by earning an AP Exam score of 3.
Optimize student's college readiness by creating opportunities for 15% of the Class of 2025 to take a total of 5 APs across their high school years, with at least one taken in the 9th or 10th grade.
For the 2023-24 school year, Prospect Ridge Academy set institutional records for the number of students who took AP exams (261) and the percentage of those students (70%) who scored a 3 or higher.
PRA would like to congratulate our high school students, as well as our dedicated teachers, counselors, administrators and parents on this accomplishment and for helping make AP access a priority.
