Dear Miners,
I am delighted to share an update about our work to build community and culture, one of the three pillars of the 2030 PRA Board Strategic Plan.
Over the past few years, the board and school leadership have received valuable feedback on concerns regarding an open and transparent process for selecting a partner to help pursue a culture and climate analysis at our school. From that feedback, our Board engaged in a reflective exercise to define success in what it means for PRA to excel in school culture, which ultimately informed the Request For Proposal (RFP). Following the rigorous RFP process involving an evaluation committee composed of PRA parents, staff, students, and a board member, Unleashed as a consultant partner was selected, read more about her here.
As defined in the RFP response, the resulting engagement will be guided by a project team of staff from various organizational roles. The project team will provide context, direction, input, feedback, and approvals throughout the engagement. The culture and climate assessment, consisting of both a quantitative and qualitative analysis, will occur from July through February, with a final report provided to the board and school leadership team as the outcome. This report will be reviewed and will then inform the strategic plan. Our leadership team prioritized funding for this initiative through Title IV and professional development allocations.
Our staff is currently participating in a listening tour engagement and a survey option to provide their input. Our students and parents will also have the opportunity to offer insight into the culture at PRA through a survey tool distributed at the end of October and the beginning of November.
Under the pillar of building community and culture, our shared goal is clear: to cultivate a culture of kindness and inclusion throughout our entire community while demonstrating the PRA Way - prepared, respectful, and accountable. This goal is not just a target, but a mission that unites us all. It will be at the forefront of each step of this consultancy engagement process, reminding us that we are all part of a larger mission to make PRA a better place.
I eagerly anticipate sharing the outcome with you and continuing to build on and improve the incredible school we have all cultivated at Prospect Ridge Academy!
Go, Miners!
