Prospect Ridge Academy is excited to announce a new partnership with St. Vrain Valley Schools Nutrition Service as the Miners’ school lunch provider ahead of the 2024-25 school year. The switch to St. Vrain Valley Schools allows PRA to provide a healthy and more diverse selection of meal options while also streamlining the process for parents.
St. Vrain Valley Schools Nutrition Service is a participating vendor in Colorado’s new Healthy School Meals for All program and will remain a free service for PRA families.
Changes in Ordering:
New for 2024-2025, you will no longer need to preorder your student's meals. We will manage that side of the process in partnership with our colleagues in St. Vrain. Every student who needs a lunch will get one.
Meal Updates:
We are excited to announce that we are now able to offer choices for our students. Please see below for the K-8 and High School specifics. Students K-12 will also have more options for fruits and veggies including more fresh options. We will also be offering chocolate milk every day.
K-8: In addition to the hot lunch option students K-8 will have a "cold lunch option" that rotates between two options: the "PB&J Grape Jr. Bistro Box" or the "Yogurt Jr Box". Students will be able to choose either the hot or cold option, not both. Fruits and veggies will be freely available for either option.
High School: High School students will have two options in addition to the daily hot lunch that will be different combinations of pizza/calzone, deli sandwiches and grill items. Students will be able to choose one of the three options, not multiple. Fruits and veggies will be freely available for all the options.
Lunch Menu:
School lunch menu is available here. A printer friendly version is available on our website. You are able to click on the menu items to see nutrition information and ingredients. To switch between the K-8 (listed as "PRA Elementary Lunch (K-8)" and "PRA High School Lunch (9-12)" select the "Menu Plan" drop down.
Dietary Restrictions:
We will meet the needs of our diverse population of students with dietary restrictions.
• Parents of students with dietary restrictions due to medical conditions may fill out the Medical Statement for Meal Modification form and email to nutrition@prospectridgeacademy.org
• Parents of students with religious or cultural reasons for choosing vegetarian/alternative meals for their students' lunches may fill out the Dietary Preference for Meal Modification Form and email to nutrition@prospectridgeacademy.org.
Free and Reduced Lunch (FRL):
Please complete the Free and Reduced Lunch Application. Though we are participating in the Healthy Meals for All program that provides free meals to every student regardless of financial situation, it is critically important for families to submit their FRL application. Students who qualify also have student fees, athletic fees, and other costs either waived or reduced. In addition, having an accurate account of our population's FRL status can provide additional general fund resources for PRA from the district and state.
We want to hear from you!
