PRA’s World Language students made a strong comeback on April 26 as the University of Northern Colorado resumed its annual World Language Day competition. Here are this year’s PRA winners.
French Competitions:
Rimmasch AP, 1st place for Flip Video
Isaac Fiola, 2nd place for Show and Tell heritage learner
Rimmasch group, 2nd place for Song/Dance/Drama
Caleb Do, 2nd place for French art
Rimmasch group, 3rd place for Skits
Spanish Competitions:
Sydney Palmer, 1st place for Show and Tell
Camille Crispín, 2nd place for Show and Tell heritage speaker
Lucas Piedra Torel, 1st place for Extemporaneous Speech (native)
Saya Neima, 2nd place for Spanish Art
Carissa Stancer, PRA’s World Language Department Chair, said PRA students competed at the event and won a few awards in 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2019.
“This was PRA’s first year back since the pandemic canceled the event for a couple of years. We are so proud to have so many students win awards this year,” Stancer said.
UNC’s World Language Day competition is the largest and longest running competition of its kind in the United States, having been held for more than 50 years.
