The summer slide is real! In order to solidify and KEEP math knowledge, practicing math skills will impact your student and teacher’s pace for the upcoming school year. That's why we've created our Summer Math Challenge for grades K-5.
When: June 1-Aug. 16
Who: Kindergarten through 5th grade
What:
1st grade students need to master addition and subtraction math facts via Reflex with at least 50% mastery to participate in the celebration.
2nd grade students need to master addition and subtraction math facts via Reflex with at least 95% mastery to participate in the celebration.
3rd grade students will need to master all operations via Reflex with at least 95% mastery to participate in the celebration.
4th grade students will need to master ALL operations via Reflex with at least 95% mastery in Reflex AND 10 lessons in iReady.
5th grade students will need to complete all operations with 95% accuracy through Reflex AND complete Mission 1 and 2 with 95% accuracy via Frax to participate in the celebration.
Why: Students that complete the requirements by Aug. 15 will get to participate in a water balloon throw at their choice of grade-level math teacher:
Kindergarten: Ruby
1st Grade: Davis
2nd Grade: Farquhar
3rd Grade: Butler
4th Grade: Jackson
5th Grade: Taheran
Grade-level math summer challenge goals are for students exiting their current grade level. So if your student finished 1st grade, they are working on the 1st grade goal.
