Dear Middle School Families,

Our annual 8th Grade Continuation tradition is only three weeks away, and we wanted to send out our schedule and timing for this exciting event to help make it a great day. Continuation starts at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22, in our high school gym. with check-in at the K8 Front Office. Guests will be able enter the ceremony through the middle school Courtyard beginning at 12:45 p.m. Parking for the event will be available in both the K8 and high school parking lots; however, guests will not be able to enter through the K8 or high school front entrances, so please plan accordingly.

  • Students should be dressed in dress code or better.

  • Students will have lunch and rehearse for the ceremony from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

  • PRA will provide lunch for students, staff, and volunteers.

  • 8:15 a.m. - 11:20 a.m., MS Finals (Period 5 & 6)

  • 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m., Lunch and Rehearsal

  • 12:45 p.m. - 01:30 p.m., Registration and Entry 

    • *Check-in at K-8 entrance

    • * Entry will be through middle school courtyard gate 

  • 1 p.m. - 1:30 p.m., Start of music showcase (slideshow and music)

  • 1:30 p.m. - 2:15 p.m., Continuation Ceremony

  • 2:15 p.m. - 3 p.m., Reception will be in the high school Commons (cake and refreshments 

    provided)

  • 3 p.m., End of proceedings and dismissal

Students will be coming to school in the morning to take their finals. If students choose to wear a casual dress-code appropriate outfit during finals, they will have an opportunity to change into their continuation outfit after lunch.

Sibling Release Form
If you would like to have your child(ren) attend their sibling's 5th or 8th Grade Continuation Ceremony on May 22, and the sibling will return to school afterward, please complete the form below. If you have more than one sibling attending, please complete the form for each child. You will need to come to the K8 building to pick up your child(ren); we will have them ready in the K8 office. After the ceremony please bring your child(ren) back to the K8 office, so they can be return to their classrooms.

If you want to sign your child’s sibling out for the day, you will need to sign them out at the K8 Front Office prior to the ceremony. Continuation is one of our most highly attended events, so we ask that you arrive early to give the  Front Office staff time to get  your child(ren) signed out before the ceremony. 

If you decide after the ceremony you want to keep your child(ren) for the rest of the day, please return to the K8 Front Office to sign them out. Remember to bring your photo ID.

IMPORTANT: Middle and high school students will not be able to be released to attend the 5th Grade Continuation because of finals UNLESS your student has made prior arrangements with their teacher(s) by Friday, May 17.
