Prospect Ridge Academy Members,

Three of our current Prospect Ridge Academy Board members’ terms expire on May 31, 2024. To fill these positions for the 2024-2025 term, the PRA Governance Committee requested interested individuals submit a resume and description as to why they would be a good fit for a position. The Governance Committee reviewed all of the information submitted and provided to the Board a list of all qualified candidates along with its recommendations. At the March 7 Regular Board meeting, and at a subsequent Special Board meeting held on March 11, the Board evaluated the list of candidates and considered which candidates best fit the Board’s current needs. The Board has elected to retain one of the current Board members for an additional term. One Board has chosen not to seek re-election and one board member is term-limited after 6 years; therefore, the Board has nominated two new members, whose information is included below.

The Board of Directors proudly nominates the following Directors to the PRA Board of Directors:

Retained Board Member- Krista Batchelder

Krista has one child in 3rd grade at PRA and will have another child starting Kindergarten in the fall. She has been on the PRA board for two years as Governance committee chair and most recently as Board president. She has also volunteered with the High School Mock Trial team. She is a lawyer by profession and currently works in the Colorado Attorney General's Office.

Nominated Board Member- Vincent Rodriguez

Vincent has 4 children currently at PRA across High School, Middle School, and Elementary school as well as one child who is a PRA graduate. His family has been proud miners since the founding year. Vincent has volunteered for the past 5 years as an elementary PRA soccer coach. He is an Architect by profession with a focus on large Aviation projects.

Nominated Board Member-Anja Smith

Anja has 2 children at PRA in Middle School and Elementary school. She has spent 8 years volunteering on PRA's curriculum committee and spent time as the Longmont Dairy Milk cap donation wrangler. She has a Ph.D. in Genetics and spent 20 years in the Biotech industry as both an R&D scientist and senior manager.

Through their individual professional background and affiliations, the nominated positions collectively have experience in the areas the Board was seeking to fill. As such, the PRA Board of Directors believes that each of the above individuals will play an integral part in filling existing gaps and strengthening the PRA Board of Directors right away. However, YOU, the PRA community has the final say. The PRA community must vote to either affirm or deny the above nominations.

Election Information: an email from our election software, Simply Voting was sent to you on April 1. The email was sent to the primary email address that we have on file for you as listed in Infinite Campus. All community households and full-time PRA staff received this email so you may cast your ballot.

Household Information — Each household will have one vote for every child you have enrolled in PRA for the 2023-2024 school year (ex.: household has 2 children = two votes of affirm or deny for each of the four candidates). If you have a split household (ex.: parents/guardians are separated), then each parent/guardian will have a ‘household’ vote (ex.: household 1 has two children = two votes of affirm or deny for each of the four candidates / household 2 has two children = two votes of affirm or deny for each of the four candidates).

Full-Time PRA Staff Information — All full-time PRA staff are allocated one vote of affirm or deny for each of the four candidates. If a full-time staff member has a child/children enrolled in PRA, then the above household calculations will also apply.

You must cast your vote electronically via the link provided in the forthcoming email between Monday April 1, and Monday, April 8, at 7 p.m.

If the majority of the votes cast are to affirm the three individuals as the PRA Directors, they will officially assume the position on June 1, 2024.

As always, thank you. We appreciate your participation.

Kindest regards, and GO MINERS!!

The PRA Board
