Hey, Miner families. Welcome back from spring break. We are excited to head into fourth quarter, which means that third quarter grades are posted. So if you want to see how your child's doing at the midterm, I really encourage you to take a look, ideally together with your student to see where things stand. For middle and high school students, it's a great opportunity to get a temperature check of how they're doing towards their end of semester grades and if there are some places that might need a little extra time and attention, some classes, to adjust course and apply a different strategy. And if they're doing well, it's a great time to celebrate too. And elementary families, same thing. So have an opportunity to take a look at those grades with your student and talk about what they mean and how they're doing and how they're going to finish this school year off strong.

In other news, you saw right before break and it's in the Miner Mail again today, the take action call. There's some legislation right now that would have a negative impact to the autonomy of charter schools. So I'm just asking if that's something you're passionate about, I think we're all passionate about being part of the charter community, that you take a minute to understand this charter accountability bill and add your voice to the mix. Also, I want to give a huge congratulations to Kera Pratt, our elementary principal, but also it's just with a heavy heart that we're so excited for her in this opportunity. She's taking a director position of academics at a K8 Core Knowledge charter school. So she'll be kind of a combination of executive director and principal at her new location. She's definitely ready for that opportunity. They're so lucky to have her. She's an amazing, amazing leader, but we're sad to see her go. So we will be in the process over the next month or so of looking for the just right next elementary principal for PRA.

And then finally, we have a couple of things this time of year that always happen. We're working through our budget for next school year. With the district in declining enrollment, they've decided to pull back some funding from us that they had given to us previously. They can, by statute, because our at-risk percentage of students is lower. So we're just trying to make sure to accommodate for that in our budget for next year. But it does have an impact on us.

If you want to know more about budget and end of year planning and just what's going on, I encourage you to attend the board meeting, which is tonight. And all the board meetings, really, they're live streamed, so you don't even have to come in person. It's a great way to find out what's going on and to hear about the governance of the school. And that's what I have for you today. So happy spring. Happy April. We're excited to wrap up this school year. We know that we have a lot still going on. We've got all of our testing this month and we're helping students feel prepared and excited for the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge. And we look forward to connecting with you because we have a lot of special events going on over the course of the next two months. So that's what I have for you today, Miners. It's great to connect with you. Take care.
