Our PRA community is invited to join Mr. Thygesen on Wednesday, Nov. 8, at 5 p.m.- 6:30 p.m. in the K8 Commons for a special viewing of Screenagers: Growing Up in the Digital Age. If you are interested in joining us for this event please complete the Google Form below by Nov. 3 so we can plan accordingly.
Screenagers is a documentary that explores the role that online activities, include learning, playing, and socializing, play in how teens' develop their self-esteem, morals, and attention spans.
After the video, Mr. Thygesen and the attendees will discuss the impact of screen time and social media on our youth, how it changes brains, and strategies parents can employ to help teens find a healthy balance with technology in their lives.
Together, we'll discuss:
- Our own experiences and challenges with technology
- The latest data around the neurological impact of digital consumption
- Strategies that have worked in our household and school
This is a wonderful opportunity for us to get together and learn more about this topic, which is so important to our kids' future. Parents/Guardians and students are welcome to attend.
We look forward to seeing you there!
