For the 2023-2024 school year, Prospect Ridge Academy is creating a Safety Taskforce led by administration and consisting of faculty, students, and parents. We will limit the size of the task force to optimize our ability to have thoughtful and productive conversations around safety. If you are interested in being considered for the task force, please complete the application.
Ideally, we would like to have staff and parent representation from ES, MS, HS. As well, we would like to have student representation on the committee, but will be limiting student participation to students currently enrolled in grades 8-12 given the nature of some of the topics we will be discussing. The task force will be meeting monthly with the following goals in mind.
Safety Task Force Goal: To provide greater transparency regarding safety procedures and systems at Prospect Ridge Academy. Monthly meetings will include: (a) check-ins and updates from students, staff, and parents; (b) a review of current safety systems along with a discussion of school/district policies and Colorado state laws; (c) thoughtful discussions around suggestions for improvements in safety process and systems of communication.
Success will be measured by:
1. Greater levels of student, parent, and staff confidence in school safety both in proactive programs and responses to incidents.
2. Reduced levels of anxiety around incidents because of increased transparency around process.
3. The task force members helping to reinforce communication around safety proactively to the entire PRA community.
