πŸŽ“5th Grade Continuation InfoπŸŽ“
Mark your calendars for Wednesday May 21st to celebrate our 5th graders finishing elementary school! The ceremony begins at 9:30am with a reception to follow at 10:15am or so. To help make the day more seamless for all, there are a three things to do on your end:

  1. Volunteer!  PRA is also in need of staff, parent, and/or MS/HS  student volunteers to help make the 5th and 8th Grade Continuation Ceremonies a success. Please consider volunteering - Volunteers will receive tickets for priority seating at the ceremony!

  2. Sibling Release Form!  (page 1 of google form link) Do you have other children at PRA that would like to attend continuation?  Use this form!

  3. Pre-registration!  (page 2 of google form link) Avoid waiting in lines on continuation day by pre-registering all guests (including yourself).  ALL guests (parents/grandparents/etc) will need to register and have their information ran through our school Raptor system to clear entrance to the continuation.  All pre-registered guests will have pre-approved name tags sent home in Thursday folders on May 15th and then will avoid potentially lengthy lines.  MAKE SURE TO WEAR NAME TAGS WHEN YOU ARRIVE ON CONTINUATION DAY  Not sure Aunt Sue can come?  Pre-register her just in case!  Last minute attendees can register the day of, but anticipate that process to take some time.

Also to note: after the ceremony, your 5th graders are officially on summer break!  No school for our graduated 5th graders, soon to be 6th graders, on May 22nd.

5th Grade Teachers

Jen Winter

My name is Jennifer Winter and I have been teaching at PRA since 2017.  I earned my teaching degree from Northern Illinois University, and my master's in education with a reading concentration from St. Francis Xavier in Illinois. I co-lead the Miner News Nugget team, which produces the quarterly elementary school newsletter that is created by a talented group of 4th and 5th grade students.

Hilda Taheran

I am a lifelong Colorado resident and passionate about volleyball. Along with playing, I've also been coaching volleyball for several years.

I earned my bachelor's degree at the University of Northern Colorado. After graduating, I went on to pursue my master's degree in math education at CU Denver.

This is an exciting year for me, as I will be getting married in September! I am looking forward to a wonderful year filled with new beginnings and special moments.

Eric Wolf

I am a Colorado native and grew up in the Arvada area. I have been teaching and coaching soccer at PRA since 2013.  I have my bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Metropolitan State University of Denver. Both of my children attend PRA High School. When I'm not teaching or coaching you will find me cheering on my kids at their sporting and theater events. As a family you will often find us hiking, snowboarding, golfing, or stand-up paddle boarding.

Melanie Lostroh

I am a Colorado native. I have been a teacher since 2007 and I have been teaching reading at PRA since 2014.  My two sons attend middle school and high school at PRA. I earned my bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado, my teaching certificate from Ottawa University, and my master’s degree from Walden University.  I love reading and spending time with my family.  I am also the Grade Level Leader for the 5th grade team.

Cody Hill

I live in Erie with my wife, Tina, and son, Jacoby.  I have been teaching at PRA since 2018, starting off in 4th grade and moving to the 5th grade team in 2021.  I have also been coaching PRA’s middle school boys' basketball team, which fills my competitive urge. When I am not teaching and coaching, I enjoy hanging out with my family and watching my son play soccer with his Ignite team. Outside of soccer seasons, we love the outdoors spending time hiking, biking, and snowboarding in the winter.

Nayeli Solis

I'm Nayeli but everyone calls me Nay. My two daughters go to PRA, which I love. I'm a Colorado Native and enjoy spending my free time at Barnes and Nobles with a cup of coffee, relaxing with a good book or series. I have a bachelor's in psychology from University of Colorado Denver and used to be the recess and lunch para, so I know students from third grade to sophomores. I'm excited to help with the new transition to 5th grade!
