โ›บCamping Day - May 9th โ›บ

Camping Day is a day that is earned by the class as a whole for completing their full homework assignments every week. Each week, students have the opportunity to earn marbles, thus, earning a fun camping day, where they may come to school wearing camping attire or spirit wear. They will also be building a TENT in class. This is a STEM project where they will design and build a tent and then test it to find out if it would survive the elements. All they will need from you is some fun and smart building materials. Click on the link to see the list and to sign up.

3rd Grade Teachers

Jordyn Dewey

Hello! I am Ms. Dewey! Super excited to be your 3rd grader's teacher! I taught kindergarten at PRA for 4 years. I have BS in Human Development Psychology with an emphasis in elementary education from Metropolitan State University of Denver. I have a son named Kaden that also attends PRA. WE are BIG fans of the Denver Nuggets! I enjoy playing volleyball. I used to coach volleyball competitively and really enjoyed seeing the girls fall in love with the sport just as much as I did. I love coffee and I am very passionate about anything to do with beach or tropical things. I also love to read and I am always ready for lots of hugs!

Thank you for trusting me to be apart of your child's journey this year. I look forward to working together to help create excellent little human beings!

Hello 3rd grade!! My name is Ms. Kapchinske, but a lot of students like to call me Ms. K!  I have been teaching for over 17 yearsโ€ฆcan you believe that?!

In my free time, I love to hike, camp, see live music, cook, and spend time with my twin toddlers, Fiona and Elliot!

I canโ€™t wait to be your teacher! We will have a school year filled with fun, learning, music, and exploration!

Mariana Kelland

Hello! My name is Mariana Kelland and I am so excited to be joining the team at PRA! This will be my first year at PRA and my first year teaching 3rd grade. Over the last 12 years I have worked as a Park Ranger at Mesa Verde and Canyonlands National Parks, a ski instructor at Keystone, and a program facilitator for the Boys & Girls Club. I have taught 2nd, 4th, and 5th grade in New York City and lived for 5 years with my husband in Melbourne, Australia, where I taught 1st grade. I have my BS from Emerson College and my MA from Teachers College, Columbia University. At Columbia, I did an extended study on the theories and practice of gifted education. I believe all children have gifts, and that tapping into these gifts is the best way to teach and learn together!

This year I am returning to the classroom after spending 4 years at home with my two children - Rafael and Kaia. They are 4 and 2 now, and you'll be hearing me talk a lot about my adventures with them, my kiwi husband, Tom, and our Australian Shepherd Chocolate Chip. I am looking forward to getting to know everyone in this amazing community. Let's have a great year!

Amy Griffith

Hello! My name is Amy Griffith and I am delighted to be your student's 3rd grade teacher! Teaching is my second career after I decided what I really wanted to do when I grew up is teach. I have had the opportunity to teach every elementary grade with the exception of  third, until now! PRA is a great fit for me to add third grade to my repertoire.

I am a product of an Adams 12 education, went on to obtain an undergrad at Adams State, and then pursued my Master's through the University of Phoenix.

I am a proud mom to 2 boys. My son Aaron is 24 and lives and works in Colorado Springs. He got engaged in May. My younger son Jack is 18 and just started as a Freshman at CU Boulder! Personally, I just got engaged on my August 5th birthday to my wonderful fiance Matt.

In my free time, you can find me traveling on "excursions" or reading and listening to a book at the same time! I am so honored to be part of your student's educational journey.
