This Month...

I can’t believe we are here!! I am going to leave this here because it is still so true... I read a post that called senior year the "Leaving Season." That makes me sad, so I am going to reclaim it as the "Beginning of the Firsts!" There is so much excitement and anticipation.

Let me start by saying, we’ve got this! Together we will weather all the firsts (not lasts) coming our way (and we have a lot coming at us).

We have entered the final semester! OMG- I have days where I am so overwhelmed, and other days I am so proud. I guess that is the nature of the year. I hope you all have reached some  clarity on your seniors' plan moving forward. In our house, we have just gained some solid choices. It has restored a little balance to my world. We can now focus on housing choices and planning trips around solid dates. I wish you all the same knowledge and solidity.

We have several dates coming up that are memorable. Just to get it on your calendar, April 16th and 17th there is no school for seniors. Then there are senior sunset, the senior awards night, and the senior breakfast and graduation rehearsal. From this point out, there really isn't a lot for the parents to do, except hold on tight! The senior awards night is one of the things that we do need to get on a calendar, but honestly the rest is for our kiddos to handle. We have started that senior downhill slide. I am told it will start moving really fast, and I am honestly not ready! I keep looking at my Vinny and thinking "where did this man come from and where is that little boy?!" I will be thinking that, and the next moment he will look at me, and I swear I see his 4 year old self laughing at something. I keep thinking of that meme, where it shows 'What the world sees' and it is the grown person in cap and gown Vs. 'What their mom sees', and it is a small child in cap and gown...... My mother tells me that this is how it will be from now on, this dichotomy. I am learning to embrace this time. I hope you all learn with me!

Be sure to check out the important dates above! We are starting to move fast towards graduation. I know there will be all kinds of questions. Please send them my way. If I can't answer them, I will find the answer for you. Let me try and take away some of your stress in this stressful season!

2025 Parents, hug those kids of ours, HARD. I am going to strive to soak up every minute I can this next year! I hope you join me!

Senior Poster Details

Due Date: April 1, 2025 - April 4, 2025

It is PRA tradition for each senior family to create a poster of their graduate to display in the high school hallways the last couple months of school. Posters will be accepted in the high school front office after spring break.

Poster requirements

  • Material: Regular poster paper, not foam board

  • Layout: Must be portrait orientation, NOT landscape

  • Size: 24”x36”

  • Homemade posters are welcome. They can only be on poster board (not foam board) and must be laminated before submitting to the school.

Examples of vendors used by PRA families in the past: Shutterfly, Snapfish, Canva, Staples, Walmart, and Tape and Twine in Erie. Lamination is not required if professionally made; however, we suggest laminating posters to prevent damage to them.

Have fun creating this together! Include your student’s name and pictures celebrating who they are (photos from childhood, sports, teams, senior year, friends, family, etc).
