This is my 11th year at PRA and my 11th year of teaching. The two best "careers" I have ever had are being a teacher and a mother. My son is a Sophomore at CU-Boulder's School of Engineering. My daughter recently graduated from Western Washington University, with a degree in business and sustainability. She has decided to stay in WA, which works well for me because I love spending time in the PNW. You will hear a lot about my love for animals. My children and I used to volunteer at the Boulder Humane Society. Phoebe, Daisy, and Ollie are our three cats who manage to provide many fun stories that I regularly share with the class. Eventually, I will adopt a dog again but I don't quite have the time to devote to a dog right now. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading, traveling, watching movies, and hiking.
Third grade is an exciting year for the students and for the teachers. We see so much growth in the students this year, both academically and socially. Also, there are so many exciting and interesting topics to study. These include multiplication and division, habitats and change, Ancient Rome, and using many comprehension strategies to read more complex books. I look forward to a great year with your children!
