About Me

This is my 8th year at PRA and my 8th year of teaching.  The two best "careers" I have had are being a teacher and the mother of my son and daughter.  Josh is a Junior at Monarch High School.  Megan will begin her Sophomore year at Western Washington University.  You will hear a lot about my love for animals.  My children and I used to volunteer at the Boulder Humane Society.  Phoebe and Daisy are our two cats who manage to provide many fun stories that I regularly share with the class.  We added another kitten to the family this summer - his name is Oliver, but we call him Ollie.  He is an orange tabby, just like Garfield.  So, now I have THREE cats!!  In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading, cycling, traveling, watching movies, and hiking.
Third grade is an exciting year for the students and for the teachers.  We see so much growth in the students this year, both academically and socially.  Also, there are so many exciting and interesting topics to study.  These include multiplication and division, astronomy, Ancient Rome, and using many comprehension strategies to read more complex books.  I look forward to a great year with your children!
