This is my 9th year at PRA and my 9th year of teaching. The two best "careers" I have had are being a teacher and a mother to my son and daughter. Josh is a Senior at Monarch High School, and is in the process of applying to colleges. Megan is a Junior at Western Washington University, she is studying business and sustainability. You will hear a lot about my love for animals. My children and I used to volunteer at the Boulder Humane Society. Phoebe, Daisy, and Ollie are our three cats who manage to provide many fun stories that I regularly share with the class. Eventually, I will adopt a dog again but I don't quite have the time to devote to a dog right now. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, working on my 2nd graduate degree (a Masters in Teaching at Denver Zoo in partnership with the University of Miami of Ohio), reading, traveling, watching movies, and hiking.
Third grade is an exciting year for the students and for the teachers. We see so much growth in the students this year, both academically and socially. Also, there are so many exciting and interesting topics to study. These include multiplication and division, astronomy, Ancient Rome, and using many comprehension strategies to read more complex books. I look forward to a great year with your children!
