Athletes of the Month - 2017 Season
Jim MacGuire - Jim has been a very important member of our varsity team for the past 2 years. He always supports and cheers on his teammates, and he works extremely hard each and every day in practice. He showed tremendous heart and perseverance in our Regional meet, still running even though he had an injured foot. Thank you Jim for always being a committed team member!
Madison Floyd- Maddie brings so much enthusiasm and energy to our team practices and meets. She has helped establish the positive team culture we want to continue to foster. Maddie struggled with a knee injury this season but never gave up. She cross-trained and showed perseverance each week as she continued to be one of our top runners at most of our meets. She is a great role model for our younger team members and she will be truly missed next season!
Matt Yoho - This is Matt's first year running cross country and he quickly became an important member of our boys’ varsity team. His time has improved significantly since the beginning of the season due to his hard work and dedication during practice. Congratulations Matt and keep up the great work!
Hannah Abeyta - Hannah has been a key cross country team member since the beginning. She is very determined, and year after year has pushes herself to be her best regardless of injury or setbacks. She has been one of our leading varsity runners since her freshman year, and is a tremendous leader for our girls’ team. It has been a privilege to be her coach!
Gabriel Rueda - Gabe's hard work over the summer is already paying off. He is leading the way for our varsity team so far this year. Gabe always has a positive attitude and is ready to put in the extra miles or intervals to keep pushing himself to improve.
Reagan Fischer - Reagan has jumped in with both feet as a freshman and is one of our top varsity runners. She reduced her 5K time by over 2 minutes this past week to lead our girls’ team at the Centaurus Invitational.
