Hi, my name is Krystal Faulkingham. I’m a freshman, and this is my first year at PRA. I am interested in journalism because it will sharpen my writing skills in preparation for creative writing my junior year. I am a national champion race car driver, and I have have been racing for 7 years. I also play on the school's volleyball team. During the winter months my family goes snowmobiling because it's super fun. When I was younger I rode horses in a professional circuit. I hope to go to college at CU. I would like to get a bachelor’s in business management, and a master’s degree in engineering. I also hope to continue to pursue my career as a race car driver.

 

My name is Araceli Silva, I’m in 12th grade and have been attending Prospect Ridge Academy since its inauguration back in 2011. Journalism has always been an interest because I’m inquisitive about what's happening around me, being connected, and being part of change. I have formed part of PRA’s Varsity soccer team last year. Outside of school I perform traditional dances from Peru competing in various competitions across the country and I’m beginning to compete on an international level.

 

My name is Jamo, and I'm in the 9th grade. I've been are PRA for four years, and I'm in journalism because I want to get better at writing. I play soccer and run cross country.

 

Hello, my name is Sofia Ochoa. I am a sophomore, and I’m new here at PRA this year. I’m interested in being a journalist because it is very important to be informed. I’m Colombian, and I am really into sports like volleyball, basketball, soccer and tennis. I have spent most of my life moving internationally.

 

My name is Peter Han, and I’ve been at PRA for seven years, from 3rd grade to 9th. I am interested in being a journalist because I am not always aware of current issues. I want to be more involved with the issues and the country I live in.

 

My name is Molly. I am in 11th grade and this is my third year at PRA. I am interested in journalism because writing and history are my strong suits and I hope to sharpen my communication and composition skills overall. I play basketball for PRA and for BCDenver.

Sadie Halleck:

My name is Sadie. I am in grade 9 and I have been at PRA for 2 years. I am interested in being a journalist because I like writing and I think that it is good to be informed; taking this class will help me be more informed with what is happening at our school. I like to play soccer and watch Netflix. I also like to hang out with my friends.

Megan Helmick:

My name is Megan. I’m a freshman and I’ve been going to school at PRA for seven years. I decided to take journalism so I could improve my factual writing. Outside of school I like to to write, which makes me a good fit for journalism I guess. I’m more of a fictional writer. I used to play soccer and I plan to play for the school, but I recently quit club soccer. So I spend my time talking to my friends and binge watching Netflix.

Gabi Maiocco:

My name is Gabi Maiocco, I am in 11th grade and this will be my second year at PRA. I am interested in taking journalism because I want to broaden my knowledge and education about writing and how to write. I play volleyball for PRA and have been on varsity for the two years that I have been here. I also play club volleyball in the winter for Alpine Volleyball Academy.

Ayden Heinrich:

My name is Ayden Heinrich and I’ve gone to Prospect Ridge Academy for six years. I’m currently in my junior year of high school. I’m interested in being a journalist because I would like to promote the spread of accurate and unbiased information. I also believe that it is important that everyone stays informed about current events and what is going on around them. I am part of the PRA cross country team. In my spare time I like to hang out with friends and play board games. I look forward to learning more about journalism.   

Brandon Huffman:

My Name is Brandon Huffman. I am a junior (11th grade). I have been going to Prospect Ridge Academy for six years. I am interested in being a journalist for sports because you get to figure out things before everyone else does. It also means you get more followers on Instagram because you are supplying the news for the sports media. I am part of the Prospect Ridge Academy Miners varsity soccer and baseball program. In my free time I like to go to the mountains and fish.
