Lauren Battista- MS Counselor
My name is Lauren Battista and I am the middle school counselor here at Prospect Ridge Academy. I am a Licensed Professional School Counselor (LPSC) as well as a National Board Certified Counselor (NBCC). I received my undergraduate degree in Sociology from the University of Colorado, Boulder (sko buffs!!!) and then ventured onto Adams State University to obtain my graduate degree in mental health counseling, with an emphasis on school counseling. Since then, I have worked as a counselor in various schools throughout Boulder Valley and I absolutely love what I do.
Middle school is my favorite age to work with because I understand and empathize with students who may be feeling lost or overwhelmed during this transitional period of their lives. I encourage open, honest upfront communication while also allowing students to feel safe and supported in all of our interactions. I provide one-on-one support, small group meetings, classroom lessons, and am available to talk thorough Zoom/on the phone/via email if that works better.
When I am not at work helping students, you can find me hiking and biking outdoors, spending time with my 9-year old pup, Payton, and teaching aerial yoga in Denver on the weekends. I am a certified aerial fitness instructor and it is one of my biggest passions, aside from helping and connecting with students.
I am SO excited to be a part of this wonderful community and look forward to getting to know everyone! Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions.
