About Me

Greetings, PRA Musicians and Families!

Hello and welcome to a new year of music-making at PRA. My name is Josh Galerstein and this will be my second year teaching Band, Orchestra, and Music Theory at PRA! Through my first year I was very proud of all the students who participated in our wide variety of bands, orchestras, jazz and chamber music ensembles through the Covid winter and am looking forward to emerging out of that even stronger into more traditional ensembles including Campus and Concert Bands and Orchestras, Jazz Band, and Pep Band, among others.

I graduated from Indiana University in 2019 (go Hoosiers!), and came out to Colorado to be near family and the great outdoors. I’m a classical tuba player by trade, but I love all kinds of music - from folk to hip hop to heavy metal to anything in between. I’m always looking for opportunities to perform, especially in duo with my twin brother who plays the euphonium. Besides music, I enjoy spending time outdoors hiking and skiing, as well as cooking. I’m also a big sports fan, especially for my hometown Atlanta, GA teams.

Please check the "Class Info/Links" tab on the right for info regarding our Campus and Concert Bands and Orchestras, Pep Band, Jazz Band, Honors String Quartet, as well as links to my Google Classroom or Canvas Pages.
