I graduated from the School of Visual Arts in NYC and worked as an editorial illustrator, muralist, and serigrapher (fancy word for fine art silkscreen printmaker). I met many famous artists. After years of working in a stinky print shop with lots of toxic chemicals, I decided I needed a career that smelled better. I attended the Institute for Culinary Education in NYC and became a pastry chef. This allowed me to move to many different places in the United States and bake in some very exciting restaurants. I had the honor of baking desserts for Julia Child’s 80th birthday party!
After years of running my own Fine Art Cake company Peace of Cake, my husband insisted we fulfill his lifelong desire to live by the mountains, and so we moved to Colorado. This is when I decided to return to school again, and earn my Master’s in Education at Regis University.
I plan on staying an art educator for a very long time.
