Sign Up Now for Summer Science, Writing Camps

Spectacular Science Camp: Participate in fun experiments and STEM challenges. Take home materials and instructions for even more science fun at home! Participate in themes such as Radical Reactions, Exciting Energy, and Sensational Space. Taught by experienced teacher Abby Mallett this camp will run from July 10-14 in Lafayette for ages 6-11.

Essay Boot Camp is back by popular demand! This camp guides middle schoolers (rising 6th-8th graders) through the writing process of an essay. Writers will learn how to choose a topic, how to plan and structure ideas into an essay format, how to write effective sentences and paragraphs, and how to revise and edit for a clear and compelling argument. Taught by experienced teacher Abby Mallett this camp will run from July 17-21 from 4:30-6 pm on Zoom.

Creative Writing Club: Over the course of the summer, participants will adopt the mindset and habits of writers. They will use mentor texts to guide them through the writing process, giving and receiving feedback as part of a writing community. Writers have choice in genre and/or subject to foster their creativity. The Creative Writing Club is truly a place for each writer to shine! The group is kept small to ensure each writer receives individual feedback every session. (Catch-up sessions are offered for missed weeks.) Taught by experienced teacher Abby Mallett on Wednesdays from 4:30-6 pm in Lafayette through the summer for rising 5th-8th graders.
