School to Home Connection
Staying connected with what your child is learning each day is important. By discussing and practicing skills at home with your child, you are reinforcing the importance of learning and also building positive study habits. These positive study habits will help your child later on in their academic career. We encourage you to ask your child questions about what they are learning each day and stay connected.
In addition, as we have returned to in-person learning, nightly practice of basic skills such as math fact practice and reading will be an important part of how we collaborate to best support student growth!
As you are aware, this year PRA has adopted a new literacy curriculum to better support our Core Knowledge aligned curriculum. Our teachers and staff have been working hard and staying focused on the instructional delivery and implementation of the CKLA curriculum, and will be spending time as an elementary team on Monday, September 20th to review the success and areas of growth as we continue through the beginning of the school year. If you are interested in learning more about the CKLA curriculum, please reference the following link and reach out to your child’s homeroom teacher or our Literacy Content Specialist, Carrie Kelly with any questions.
